This week we are going to discuss some of the targets and strategies outlined in our 2009 elearning plan. Tonight we are going to focus on the Curriculum Planning section of our elearning plan with particular emphasis on the following target practices.
- There is a whole school approach to curriculum planning that integrates the widespread and frequent use of ICT for improved student learning.
- There is explicit integration of ICT across all VELS domains and other curriculum frameworks.
To achieve these targets we have outlined in our elearning plan the following strategies to help us achieve these targets.
- Staff to integrate atleast one dimension of ICT (Visual Thinking, Creating or Communication) into their subjects and assess and report according to VELS in 2009
- PD is provided for staff to investigate how to implement ICT in the VELS domains, with an emphasis on thinking skills and communication.
Here is a link to the ICT concepts and skills charts which you could use to identify areas relevant to areas you are learning this year.

In order to be consistent with the way we report our absences on our reports please use the following statement at the beginning of the achievement comment section of the report.
“(Student Name) has attended 20 sessions out of 25 sessions this semester.”
If the students number of absence needs improvement, the above statement can be included in the future learning and improvement section of the report.

Tonight we are going to update the topics that we have covered this semester in each of our classes, using our online curriculum tool. You will need to look through your present subjects and look at the topics outlined in each of them. You need to edit those subjects that need editing and delete any that are not appropriate. Make sure that each of the topics that you cover only outline the VELS standards that you have assessed and reported on in Markbook, delete and domains and dimensions listed that you have not assessed. If there are topics that you have covered that are not listed, please add these to your class.
